Maybe Mayberry

I know that I said I was going to blog about a book I’ve been reading, but I wanted to take a little detour and write about the Return to Mayberry series that started at church today.  We’ve had some great series lately, but this one stood out for me because it’s something that has really been pressing on me [...]

Testing…

Today was my sugar test. I had to be at the doctors at 9:30.  They took a fasting blood sample ( I hadn’t eaten since the night before).  Then I had to drink the glucola – this time is was fruit punch – yum! Then I had to wait an hour, give a blood sample, [...]

Day three

For my third and final day of sweets, I had a coke, a bowl of sugary cereal, a handful of hershey kisses and caramels, and a slice of the richest chocolate cake w/fudge icing from Publix you could put in your month.  It should have counted for a week of sweets.

For those living vicariously through me,  yesterday I had a cherry coke, a bowl and 1/2 of Cookie Crisp cereal (not something I get to eat often as sugary cereals only come home from the store once in a blue moon), a yummy little cherry cheesecake made by Kendra and since that was small, some [...]

Gobbletygoop

Tonight at a meeting for homeschool mom’s, we were honoring two mom’s who are expecting next month.  After our group had finished covering various topics, I offered to say a blessing over the food as well as these ladies.  What came out could hardly be considered a blessing.  I know that God looks at our hearts when [...]

Fork in the Road

In our small group the last couple of weeks, we’ve been talking about the life of David and how he came to a fork in the road several times in his life.  Little did I know that after last week’s lesson, I’d be facing a fork in the road.
Do you know what it’s like when [...]
