Gobbletygoop

Tonight at a meeting for homeschool mom’s, we were honoring two mom’s who are expecting next month.  After our group had finished covering various topics, I offered to say a blessing over the food as well as these ladies.  What came out could hardly be considered a blessing.  I know that God looks at our hearts when we pray and eloquence isn’t necessary. However, when one is praying in front of a group of other human beings, one would hope for a modicum of proper speech.  This was not the case.  It was further aggravated by the fact that I could hear our 18-month-old calling out from our bedroom ‘mama, mama’.  And even though all I wanted to do was thank God for the opportunity to get together with other mom’s and recharge, ask for mercy and protection and safe deliveries for these women, and ask that he bless those who prepared the food, what came out was nothing short of gobbletygoop.  So, Tricia and Pamela, if you happen to read this – bless you and  the new little lives that you’ll be adding to your families and to everyone else – I’m thankful to be a part of such a great group of women.  I’ll be happy to pray for you anytime…just not out loud.
