Happy Birthday, Dayleigh!

Friday was Dayleigh’s 2nd birthday.  She was an unexpected blessing that I like to call my ‘gall-bladder-baby’.  That’s because after I had my gall bladder out almost three years ago, my cycle was a little erratic and as a result, we found out we were expecting #5.  It was a shock to say the least 🙂  It was really neat to see how excited the kids were.  This was the first baby the middle three were really old enough to remember and it has been special to see how much they dote on her.

Her middle name is Joy and she lives up to it.  She has been pretty assertive lately, but she still retains that sweetness that we adore.  She has been talking up a storm and says lots of things clearly, but some still require a little translation.  She has cute names for all her siblings – from oldest to youngest they are – Gaga, Deedee, Dadee, Bubba, and the baby is Daydee.  She calls herself DayDay.  She loves to listen to her music and take care of her babydoll while I take care of the baby.

It has been fun watching her grow up at the church and see the relationships that she is forming.  When we were driving to church last Sunday, she saw the sign by the road and pointed and said, “there it is!” and then she squealed “it’s class!”  She couldn’t wait to go to class and see her teachers and friends.

We had a good time with her on Friday.  When we would ask her about her birthday, she would say cake, ice cream, balloons, presents and geenga, which means chicken.   So that’s what she got !  She’s still reminiscing about it 🙂

Happy Birthday, Dayleigh ~ you are a joy, indeed!
