About

Welcome! I’m glad that you’ve stumbled on my blog.  It’s a pretty ecletic mix of posts ~ some just for fun, some more serious. Most are inspired by my family, my friends and my faith in Christ.  I love to write as an outlet (as mom of 6, I need it!).  I’m no master, but hopefully you’ll find something you enjoy.

If it’s your first visit to this blog, I want to explain my choices in names.  Those who know me and have my email address may have wondered about my odd screen name – Kermooch.  It’s actually a nickname given to me by my husband when we were dating.  I don’t know where he got it – I don’t think he does either.  He rarely calls me by it anymore, but I have found it useful when it comes to screen names because it is unusual and it is never taken.  I don’t have to add a string of numbers after it.  It’s just kermooch. I’ve used it since we first got on AOL over 10 years ago and I’ve carried it with me when I’ve changed.  It’s strange, but it’s mine, and don’t even think of borrowing it!

As for the name of my blog – Sonflower – I have always had a love for sunflowers.  They make me smile when I see their bright yellow faces.  There’s nothing as gorgeous as a huge field of them on a clear blue day.  One day I’m going to run in that field.

The only thing better than a sunflower with it’s face turned toward the sun is a Sonflower with her face turned toward the SON.  That’s what I strive to be.  I don’t always succeed.  Sometimes I get distracted or I lose my focus.  But I always find myself turning to find Him and He is always there.

Thanks for stopping by ~ hope to see you again soon…

I love how you’ve related a sunflower to being a SONflower! Beautiful!

Hi Kerri! I didn’t know you had a blog, how delightful to find it! I’ve been keeping track to see if you’ve had your baby yet, and will keep you in my prayers. I’m sure your new little one will love Scrabble. 🙂
